Glutathione is a medical term, sometimes written as GSH. It is a key requisite within the human body involved in the detoxification and elimination of environmental toxins. Low glutathione levels have been associated with neuro-degenerative diseases such as MS (Multiple Sclerosis), Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease, among others. Critically, children with autism have tested as having very low levels of glutathione.
Glutathione supplements are being promoted as having a major role to play in addressing the medical treatment needs of people with autism. It remains to be seen how this issue develops, but it is well worth being aware of this and, if interested, read more about it and you can then ask your medical advisor for more information and advice.
