Hole-in-OneHole-in-One marks another great success

Our 11h Annual Golf Classic took place on Friday 11th May 2012. This has always been the mainstay of The Red Door's fund-raising schedule, and always offers a terrific day and night out. This year's event exceeded our high expectations. We had a great day's golf, with the highlight being a Hole-in-One on the 134 meter long 14th hole by Jonnie Cahill to win our "Nearest-the-Pin" in spectacular fashion. We then had a wonderful evening with good food and great craic. We had lots of golf prizes - but the sharp end of the evening was in our raffle and auction, both of which helped to raise funds for the charity.

We want to thank all the people who made this year's event such a huge success. This includes the donors of golf prizes, raffle prizes and auction items. It also includes those who bought raffle tickets and made bids at the auction. We had lots of volunteers who helped organise and run the event on the day, and in particular, our Event Co-ordinator, Jane Donnellan. A big thank-you to everyone involved.

The 1st Prize was won by Jerry Maher's team with a great score of 91 points. Jerry is an ever-present who has supported the event for all 11 years, and we were all delighted that he took the spoils. The Des Quinn trophy, given to the leading Red Door parent, was scooped by Deirdre Farrell.

A special thank-you to the Hole-in-One marksman Jonnie Cahill who donated his €500 clubhouse award to The Red Door.

We are, as ever, extremely grateful to the Committee and all the staff in Foxrock Golf Club, who open their doors to us every year.
