Coffee & Chat29th Sept 2010

Our first Parent Support Group meeting of the new school year takes place on 29th Sept - the last Wednesday of the month. We look forward to seeing you there.

Our group's meetings are a mix of self-help support meetings and meetings at which there is a presentation of relevance. Our most recent meeting was on Wednesday 28th April, and included presentations by The Red Door's Speech & Language and OT therapists on how parents can address relevant issues at home. As is common, most of the attendees were mums. We plan to target a future date to host similar presentations for the dads. More details to follow . . .

An earlier meeting included a presentation by Dr. Majella Perry, from Wicklow, who is training to become a registered DAN Doctor. She presented a fascinating overview, from her perspective, of moving from being a total skeptic to being now convinced of the efficacy of biomedical treatments for people with autism.

There is no charge for attending, but because places are limited, people who wish to attend must pre-register by contacting Edel on (01) 663 7532, or by email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

We will post the schedule of future meetings here, but they now take place in our new Parent's Room in Monkstown.
